August Race Report 2018
This year on Monday August 6th will be the 66th Annual Shore to Shore road race. It begins in Oliphant starting at 8 am and runs east to Wiarton finishing at the Wiarton arena whenever you get there.
Click here for pertinent details. If you are not running the race this year and wish to volunteer please contact us. We have several needs yet to fill ranging from road marshals to aid stations to finish line timers.
The next weekend has two events taking place on Saturday August 11th. There is the Colleen Lantz 11th Annual Run 4 Youth. The next time you are thinking of handling your cell phone while you are driving please remember that this 5 and 10 km race is in memory of a new mom killed by a texting driver. Registration is conveniently at this link
Also on that day is the Bruce Peninsula Multisport race. Full details are at www.brucepeninsulamultisportrace.ca/ If you are interested in volunteering for this race please contact us and we will forward your offer to the race organizers. This complex logistical event succeeds due to the many people who volunteer for sure.
And if you are not yet tired out that weekend then the next day, Sunday, August 12, 2018 is the Sauble Beach 8 km race.
Take a weekend to just train and then participate in the 9th Annual Bayshore Race. The 5 km, 10 km or half marathon awaits you on a new course this year on August 26th.
With the local races in August behind us Runner’s Den Fall Clinics will begin on the 27th. Train for the next twelve weeks in our 5 km, 10 km, Veteran 150’s, or either of our intermediate training groups for Autumn, the nicest time of year according to many runners.
