We are well underway and in week 5 of 12 of the fall clinics at Runner’s Den.  It’s been a busy start with our social night at Papi’s hosted by Mizuno after the demo night which included the new Mizuno Rider 30.  The lucky winner of a pair of Rider 30’s went to Adele Coulter.  Congrats Adele and thank you to Mizuno for a fun evening!

Next up was the Maurten sample night hosted by none other than Rachel Hannah, Registered Dietitian and elite marathoner.  We tried some of the new “additions” to enhance the flavour of the maurten drink mixes.  The new flavours were great and the combined consensus was that most of us are not fueling properly.  To dive deeper into proper fueling you can visit the maurten.com webpage.

We brought back the run to Wiarton to assist Russ and Barry towards training for the Chicago Marathon.  How it works is we drop runner’s off at different starting points at calculated times so that everyone finishes up in Wiarton at roughly the same time.  We then celebrate the effort by having breakfast at Dockside Willies.

Congratulations to Patrick Stieber who represented Runner’s Den at the Walkerton half marathon, achieving a new personal best time of 1:15:21, more than 8 minutes ahead of second place!

The weather has been changing which makes running a lot more enjoyable in the slightly cooler temps.  Come check out our latest fall gear which includes new product from Mizuno, Asics and Nike.  Clinic members can enjoy 15% off any apparel or accessory needs.

And new to Runner’s Den this year is ICEBUG.

The reviewed winter running shoes are highly praised for their exceptional grip and stability on icy and snowy surfaces, providing comfort and confidence for runners even in harsh winter conditions. Many reviewers were delighted with the fit, cushioning, and design, noting that they feel secure running without fear of slipping, and they remain comfortable while keeping feet warm and dry. These shoes have been described as a game changer for winter running, allowing consistent outdoor activity regardless of the weather.
