Meaford 5km and other News!
Over twelve years it has been a real pleasure to watch people and runners evolve. It has been great to evolve ourselves and to see Runner’s Den Owen Sound do the same.

Soon, many runners will be vacating the overgrown trails in pursuit of flatter ground to extend their training into more specific half and full marathon training. To help accelerate your performance this fall, Runner’s Den has the Mizuno Catalyst 2 now on special for $99.99 reg. $159.99. The Catalyst was the follow up to the successful Elixir offering a lightweight and durable shoe to complement your training. It excels as a fast and responsive race day shoe as well as meeting the challenges of every faster interval and tempo pace ran mile in training. The Catalyst offers a slight medial post for stability which enhances the range of potential wearers rather than reducing it. If you are in need or wondering on such a shoe check a pair out before they are gone.

Meaford Harbour 5 km race is coming up. You can register online or learn more details at http://www.mhfoundation.ca/events.cfm This year at the race Runner’s Den is super pumped to be joined by Bruce Trigg of 361 footwear. Bruce will be displaying the fall 18 and spring 2019 line ups in store on July 13th and then meeting the racers in Meaford the next morning for the race and the opportunity of exposing some great product to some great athletes. Models such as the Meraki, Strata and the Sensation have been fitting terrific and are generating some excellent reviews and experiences. The shoe midsole foams provide a fast and responsive run cushioning you on the long runs but exceeding expectations for the faster tempo style mid week workouts. Runner’s Den and 361 hope to see you in Meaford on July 14th benefiting the Meaford Hospital.
If the miles spent running , the kilometers spent in tight cycling shoes or with swollen feet from the heat standing on the deck are stressing your tender feet you may wish to check out the new Columbia Montrail Molokini or Molokai sandals. These thong style recovery sandals were developed as pre and post race athletic wear but perhaps 19 out of 20 that we sell are continually worn as comfort options primarily around the house. They are thermo moldable meaning that you could place the footwear in the oven to heat and then mold to your foot but with the start to summer we are having just simply leave them on your deck in the sun then place on your feet to mold (wearing a thin sock so you do not burn of course).
